The Mardale is a cosy Lake District Inn with four bedrooms for exclusive hire!
Dating from the early 18th century and recently refurbished by the new owners. The Inn is tucked away in the pleasant little village of Bampton in the Lowther Valley.
Available for exclusive hire, the Pub offers the optional addition of opening the bar for you to serve your own guests their drinks – we can even order is beer and ales for you! The pub isn’t open to the public
so this is truly for exclusive use.
You have the option of catering for yourselves using the domestic kitchen, or for an additional charge we can provide the accommodation on a B&B basis with breakfasts cooked in the commercial kitchen. There is another pub in the village which is an alternative for evening meals if required.
This area, known as the Eastern Fells, is one of the most rural parts of the Lake District National Park and as such it was used as the location for the 80’s cult classic film ‘Withnail & I’.
For Coast to Coasters:
We are the closest accommodation in Bampton to Wainwright’s Coast to Coast route (transfers available). The location saves the 3-mile uphill struggle to Shap, thus shortening the hardest day on the walk. Located near to Haweswater, it makes an excellent base for viewing the golden eagles, plus walking, biking, fishing and other outdoor activities.
Dogs and Children are very welcome at the Inn.
We are situated 15 minutes drive from Junction 39 of the M6. OS ref 514181 – Postcode CA10 2RQ
