The Mardale is a Traditional Lakeland Inn nestled in the Lowther Valley, just 5 miles from Shap. We have 4 double/twin en suite bedrooms and a family en suite room which sleeps six.
This area, known as the Eastern Fells, is one of the most rural parts of the Lake District National Park and as such it was used as the location for the 80’s cult classic film ‘Withnail & I’.
Coast 2 Coast Accommodation:
Just a short distance from the route, we’re ideal for Coast 2 Coast walkers. The location saves the 3-mile uphill struggle to Shap, thus shortening the hardest day on the walk.
Dogs and Children are very welcome at The Mardale.
We are situated 15 minutes drive from Junction 39 of the M6. OS ref 514181 – Postcode CA10 2RQ
